Christian churches in Brazil pray together for Covid-19 patients in front of hospitals

In an area of São Paulo, Brazil, several Christian churches began a prayer chain in front of the city’s hospitals, in favor of all the people who are fighting the coronavirus.

Fernando Henrique Silva, pastor of the Luz da Manhã Pentecostal Assembly Church, was the one with the idea of these prayer chains that began this Wednesday (13), in which each church must challenge another so that every day there is a congregation praying in these places.

Members of the Luz da Manhã Pentecostal Assembly Church gathered this Wednesday at 10:00 pm in front of the Holy House, the Regional Hospital and the Maternity of Assis,  to start the day of prayer.

The Church of the Alliance with Christ and the Foursquare Church confirmed their participation in this chain, having an hour of prayer this week in the agreed places.

“We started with this dynamic and challenged our friend Pr. Tiago Lameu, from the Church of the Alliance with Christ, and he quickly agreed to participate. Yesterday we did the period from 10 pm to 11 pm and, in the sequence, his church took charge of the prayers even in the rain”, said Pastor Silva in an interview with the Guiame portal.

“This is the most propitious time for the church to do its work,” the pastor says.

Silva affirms that praying from the outside is the way to continue blessing the sick, since he had to stop doing his usual pastoral visits within the ICUs due to the pandemic.

“We want to prophesy healing over them because I believe in the spiritual dimension and that God responds to our requests,” he added.

“This is the time for the church to show its role. Being a church within four walls is easy. Now is the time for the church to come out of its comfort zone and show the Brazilian nation that it has a great weight”, commented the pastor regarding the participation of the other churches.

“We are a country with a large percentage of Christians and we need to unite in prayer, fasting, and consecration for Brazil. I believe in the power of God and that he can do something supernatural with the Brazilian nation,” Silva said.

“I think one more moment to show ours is to put our knees on the ground interceding for the people. I think many healings will come. We have the possibility to stop this deadly virus that is devastating the Brazilian nation,” he added.

All participants in this movement must obey all protection and safety protocols, respecting social distancing, the correct use of face masks and hand sanitizer.
