After years of publicly declaring himself as an atheist, Brad Pitt confessed that he was being “rebellious” when he told the world he didn’t believe in God.
Pitt was raised in a Baptist church but questioned his beliefs. In 2009, during an interview when asked if he believed in God, Pitt identified himself as an agnostic and then as an atheist.
«Oh, man, I’ve been through everything. How I hold on to religion. I grew up with Christianity. I always questioned it, but it worked sometimes. And then, when I was alone, I left it completely and called myself an agnostic. I tried some spiritual things but I didn’t feel well. Then I called myself an atheist for a while, just as a bit of a rebel, ”he said.
“When I was raised, I was told that things were in God’s way … I thought it was stifling.” The artist said.
It was that stifled feeling that led him away from the church, he told The Hollywood Reporter.
The award-winning actor and film producer declared that he could believe again, but it would be very difficult. “And then I found myself coming back, and believing,” he added.
Brad Pitt was seen lately visiting the Sunday services that rapper Kanye West performs, showing his approach to God.
