Animation ‘Doc McStuffins’ sends message of gay marriage

Showing for the first time in the Disney Junior program (USA), a recent episode of the cartoon for children called ‘Doc McStuffins’ presented two lesbian mothers as heads of a family .

The animation, now in its fourth season, is aimed to children from 2 to 5 years, according to Common Sense Media. The animation is also exhibited in Brazil through ‘Disney Junior BR’, with the name ‘Doctora Juguetes’.

‘Doc McStuffins’ is a very popular program and was supported by a variety of audiences with different backgrounds. The main character is a black girl named ‘Doc’, who helps sick stuffed animals as a ‘medical mirim’.

The episode titled ‘The Emergency Plan’ was exhibited at Disney Channel last week. It showed two mothers who behaved like a couple. The characters were voiced by two known lesbians in the United States: Wanda Sykes and Portia de Rossi.

At the scene, the two mothers are unprepared  when a toy dragon provokes an earthquake, jumping up and down. The two lesbians end up separating from the baby, but the ‘Doctor Toys’ helps to bring them together again and shows them how to make emergency kits.

Christian activist group ‘One Million Moms’ said that the exhibition of a gay couple in the animated series  ‘unfortunately is no longer a surprise,’ noting that the creator and executive producer of the design, Chris Nee, is an openly homosexual woman.

LGBT activists are applauding Disney for the attitude. Meanwhile, the ‘One Million Moms’ group called for a boycott of the program saying: Conservative families will not have other option than to stop watching Disney Channel Network in their homes to avoid their advertisements and schedules.
